I believe therapy is a space where people can reconnect with themselves, build resilience, and find new ways forward. Real change happens when we feel safe, seen, and supported — not judged or “fixed.”

I’m Michael J Clancy, an online counsellor based in Dublin, accredited by the APCP (Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists). As a sex‑positive therapist in Ireland, I work with adults and couples across the country through secure, confidential online sessions. My focus is on helping clients navigate life’s challenges with more clarity, calm, and self‑compassion.

Who I work with

I work with adults (18+) who may be feeling stuck, anxious, or disconnected from themselves or others. You might be dealing with anxiety, burnout, relationship issues, low mood, identity questions, or ADHD — or simply sensing that something needs to change.

Many of my clients are LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, or navigating complex life transitions. I offer inclusive therapy that respects every aspect of who you are — your background, identity, and lived experience.

My Approach

My approach is grounded in warmth, honesty, and collaboration. I tailor each session to your needs, drawing from person‑centred therapy, CBT, and mindfulness‑based interventions to support lasting growth.

Therapy with me is trauma‑informed and affirming of all identities, including gender‑diverse and non‑monogamous clients. I provide a space where you can explore your experiences freely, gain self‑awareness, and develop practical tools for emotional resilience and connection.

How online therapy works

All sessions are provided online through Zoom, WhatsApp, or phone — whichever feels most comfortable for you. Online therapy is as effective as in‑person work, and many clients find it easier to open up in a familiar space.

Before your first session, we’ll make sure your setup is private and your connection secure. From there, our work focuses entirely on what matters most — your wellbeing, your growth, and your goals.
